MynaaAI: The AI Mental Health Companion for Students

Student suicides have reached their highest ever recorded level as per the NCRB 2023 report.

We lose many of them because the support arrives too late or not at all.

I have seen students carry extraordinary pressure—academic, family, societal—quietly and alone.

Neither technology nor the healthcare system alone can solve this.

But when mental health professionals and AI can bring about the change, the support becomes familiar, culturally rooted, medically sound, and empathetic.

That is what led me to build MynaaAI.

Mynaa—the small bird deeply connected to Indian childhoods, homes, and memories—represents everything we wanted this platform to become.

And that’s why I thought there could be no better name for the app than Mynaa.

MynaaAI is a 24/7 AI mental health companion for Indian students and families—available in 23 Indian languages and built on Supreme Court guidelines and clinical protocols so that no student ever faces their darkest moment alone.

Mynaa is not just a name—it is the blueprint.

She speaks your language. Not insisting you speak hers—she learns yours. MynaaAI speaks 23 Indian languages because no student should have to translate her own pain before asking for help.

She stays close. At 2 a.m. in a hostel room when the world is asleep and the heart feels heavy—not behind a form, not available only 9 to 5. Simply Present.

She reaches everywhere. Cities and villages. Premier universities and rural ASHA workers on limited internet access. She needs no ideal conditions. Neither should a student’s access to mental health support.

She raises the alarm. When a student is in danger, the counselor, the warden, and the parent know in time. Not after.

She lives in a flock. MynaaAI connects students to counselors, counselors to psychiatrists, schools to parents, and ASHA workers to hospitals. Healing alone was never the point. A community holding each other up—that is the point.

The Mynaa belongs to this soil, these streets, these childhoods. So does MynaaAI—built in India, by an Indian doctor, for Indian students, families, and communities.

Somewhere right now, a student is sitting alone, unable to explain what they are feeling.

They deserve something built for them to listen to them in their own language.

That is MynaaAI.
